South Asian Youth Conference

Abstract

The 5th World Youth Congress in Turkey in 2010 provided a common ground for delegates from these countries to interact and a common, non-partisan, non-political youth platform similar to the European Youth Congress has been built upon since. It is hoped that the SAYC becomes an annual event. The SAYC aims to provide training, deepen understanding of South Asian dynamics, create a South Asian Youth Movement and develop relationships across the region. In 2010 and 2011, events took place in Pakistan and India. Concluding documents:
  • 2013 - Kathmandu, Nepal - The third South Asian Youth Conference concluded with the "Action Based Change Declaration 2013" which highlights sustainable development, meaningful youth participation and improvement in living standards.
