SDC Youth Policy
Published on
March 25, 2013
Abstract
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is part of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). It works with other agencies within the Federal Administration as well as with civil society organisations and the private sector to coordinate Swiss international cooperation efforts. SDC is Switzerland’s “public face” for all matters relating to international development, local development and transformation processes as well as humanitarian aid. Support from young people is essential if the agreed upon Millennium Development Goals are to be achieved by 2015. The present Youth Policy explains why SDC is placing greater emphasis on youth involvement in its programmes and what it seeks to accomplish. The Policy also shows how SDC gives greater importance to young people in all of its activities and provides increased support to young people at the operational level. This Youth Policy is intended for SDC staff and partner organisations.
