National Youth Service Policy Framework

The policy framework aims to: • Define the concept of a National Youth Service (NYS) for South Africa; • Generate opportunities for young people to develop marketable skills and to connect to their communities through service; • Mobilise resources to support National Youth Service programmes and lay the basis for a national service infrastructure; and • Propose the institutional arrangements for implementing the NYS.
