The National Forum on Disability Issues was an historic nonpartisan event, focusing on the disability positions of the 2012 Presidential candidates. Edward M. “Ted” Kennedy, Jr. and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) spoke on behalf of their respective parties to present their campaigns’ positions on matters relating to Americans with disabilities. The National Forum on Disability Issues was an historic nonpartisan event, focusing on the disability positions of the 2012 Presidential candidates. Edward M. “Ted” Kennedy, Jr. and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) spoke on behalf of their respective parties to present their campaigns’ positions on matters relating to Americans with disabilities. After listening and reading the transcripts of a debate on disability issues in the United States, I thought I created a word cloud made from the captioned text of each of the two respective representatives, Kennedy (for Obama) and McMorris-Rogers (for Romney). Any question from the moderator was excluded, so these images represent actual spoken words, the larger the size of a word the greater the frequency in which it was used.
It’s a simple exercise that is somewhat telling in the types of words used and emphasis given by each the representatives of each party.
